Ros Belt Drive Upgrade Kit 1 - 1 of 1

Ros Belt Drive Upgrade Kit
Belt drives are only available as a after market add-on for the Electric start engine as they can't be fitted to a Ros with a decompression switch. It can be supplied for a Manual start engine but the engine needs to be ordered at the same time as they can be fitted with a internal decompressor by Ros Motors

This upgrade kit for the Ros changed the oil bath drive system to a belt drive reduction system that has the benefit of quiet running, no oil change maintenance, less moving parts, and visible belt inspection. The clutch system is still in place so the propeller does not spin at idle.

I have been flying with one and the noise reduction is amazing not to mention the maintenance side is reduced. I also like the fact the redrive has a 6 bolt pattern for the propeller as I have seen the standard 4 bolt system have issues. The propeller also has a reverse pitch to the standard. Please note this when ordering replacement propellers.
,br> The other thing to remember when fitting the belt drive is the motor mounts will need to be lowered to centre the slightly higher drive position. Kangook frames have a bracket supplied as part of the upgrade kit.
